Your health history, medication-use, and supplement-use will be taken into consideration when creating your treatment plan to create the most appropriate option for you. Based on the health of your skin and your goals for your appearance, your Microneedling treatment will be customized to achieve your preferred, glowing results.
You will be given personalized preparation and after-care instructions before your microneedling appointment date. In general, patients are advised to discontinue use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDS) like ibuprofen and naproxen for two weeks before your treatment. Patients will also be asked to discontinue blood-thinning supplements, including turmeric, fish oil, garlic, and ginkgo Biloba.
Avoid retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), and beta hydroxy acids for 5 to 7 days leading up to your treatment date. Do not wax or electrolysis the treated area for 5 to 7 days before your session. The day of your treatment, do not apply makeup or lotions to the treatment site.
Genius RF Microneedling is performed within 45 minutes to an hour. Patients will receive a topical anesthetic, which will keep them completely comfortable during their treatment. Once the treatment area has been sterilized and the patient is comfortable, Medical Aesthetician Adina Barnett will perform the microneedling treatment using the easy-to-manipulate Genius RF handpiece.
The handpiece contains 49 insulated microneedles, which will emit radiofrequency to the deep dermal layers. You will receive aftercare instructions, including a recommendation of which gentle skincare products will be best to use. Keep sun exposure to a minimum for two weeks. If you do have to be outdoors, use adequate sun protection, including sunscreen and a hat. Patients are advised to avoid saunas, jacuzzies, pool, and anything else that will possibly irritate the skin for 24 hours. Avoid taking NSAID medications 36 to 48 hours following their treatment.
